The Maui Veterinary Clinic was the first fully operational veterinary facility on Maui. The clinic was opened by Dr. Clarence Ching, and has been around for over 50 years. In fact, we happily treat third and fourth generation family members of some of the original clients from the clinic’s earliest days. The clinic has gone through many changes over the years, and many different locations. One of our more iconic locations was a small building located across the street from Costco, where the new Marriott Courtyard Hotel now stands. In 1983, the clinic was the first new building in Wailuku’s Millyard subdivision, and in 2010 we moved to our current location, a brand new state of the art facility just around the corner from its previous site. The Millyard is centrally located and offers easy access and plenty of parking. Stop by and ask for a tour!
Dr. Wayne Kot joined the team at the Maui Veterinary Clinic in 1998, and in 2000, Dr. Kot and his wife Leslie acquired the clinic and took over full operation. Since 2000, with the help of a competent and dedicated staff, the Maui Veterinary Clinic has continued to grow and evolve into one of Maui’s premier veterinary facilities.
Dr. Kot obtained his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1995. He also holds advanced degrees in Biochemistry, Wildlife Biology and Commerce. Before pursuing veterinary medicine, Dr. Kot ran an investigative biochemical research laboratory. His passion for research followed him into veterinary medicine where he has published papers on canine and feline neuro-anatomy. In addition to general practice, Dr. Kot enjoys a passion for general and orthopedic surgery.
Dr. Kot spends his spare time on the North Shore surfing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, and when the snow flies, snowboarding.
